Bootle MP Peter Dowd Joins Children From Waterloo Primary School In Learning About Finances
An initiative to get children savvy with their finances came to Bootle constituency last week.
While it may seem like nine to 11-year-olds don’t need much in the way of accounting advice, charity MyBnk don’t seem to think so. Their Kickstart Money project provides workshops to educate children about finance from a young age.
On Friday 4th February, they gave a session to pupils at Waterloo Primary School in Bootle Constituency.
Peter Dowd MP said: “It was great to visit Waterloo Primary School and see first-hand how young people were being empowered to take charge of their future by bringing money to life – while basic numeracy skills are helpful for budgeting and saving, many of our financial habits are motivated by attitudes and behaviours learned at a young age, the work being done by KickStart Money will create generations of young adults who can budget or make informed decision.”
