Hillsborough Intervention

Peter Dowd MP asked the Secretary of State for Justice if he was satisfied with the current legal provisions which have resulted in 96 who were ‘unlawfully killed’ at Hillsborough & their families left without justice. It’s time for change to ensure victims of injustices get the support and answers they need.

The collapse of this case is devastating for the families of all those who lost loved ones at Hillsborough, everyone who was there on that tragic day and all those who have spent the last 32 years campaigning for justice for the 96.

Five years on from the inquest that ruled fans were unlawfully killed, this shameful injustice cannot go on. It’s completely unacceptable that no successful criminal charges have been brought against any individual. The Hillsborough Law must be introduced, to ensure proper transparency and accountability. Change is needed desperately to ensure victims of injustices get the support they need.
